Job Overview

As a painter or stainer (Op II) you will perform duties associated with operating/spraying and maintaining coating guns and equipment, related to the process of coating window and door parts that customers perceive as having high quality and value. 

Highlights of your role

  • Operating of spray and/or flow coating equipment to prime, top coat or stain coat quality wood profiles.
  • Load, unload, and feed equipment or spray tables, and ensure made-to-order parts are batched together in carts correctly for assembly customers.
  • Check and verify quality accuracy based on the quality guidelines.
  • Maintain and clean spray and flow coating equipment and booths to meet quality and environmental standards.
  • Measure and audit coated parts to ensure quality standards are being met.
  • Ability to read labels, customer orders, R&D coating prints, and quality specifications.
  • Ability to work with computers and/or the ICIM program.
  • Willing and able to rotate stations across the department.
  • Effective and positive team player and works well with others.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Dependable attendance record.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Standing and/or walking for 10 hours a day.
  • Performing repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions.
  • Working at an established production rate pace entailing pushing and/or pulling of materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently, team lifting may be required for heavier lifting.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and turning.
  • Climbing stairs and/or ladders and working in elevated areas.
